deNOx / ENVIRONMENTAL

Research suggests NOx emissions contribute to acid rain, agricultural land destruction and ozone depletion. In urban industrial areas, we can see nitrogen dioxide pollutants as a hazy orange to reddish/brown hue to our sky. Clean air regulation had its genesis under President Eisenhower in 1955. In 1963 President Kennedy signed the first regulatory "Clean Air Act". The subsequent Clean Air Act of 1970, signed by President Nixon, charted four mandates: 1) reduce pollution levels to protect the public, 2) maintain these levels once attained, 3) protect the air quality in regions where air quality meets the new standards, and lastly, 4) achieve these mandates with the least possible disruption to our economy.

Our deNOx/Environmental Systems group designs and manufactures reagent supply systems for Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) processes. These products use anhydrous ammonia (NH3) or aqueous ammonia (NH4OH) to convert nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions from combustion processes to nitrogen and water vapor.
